I dunno if you've got them protected for a reason, but if you'd consider making these public I'd LOVE to show some of my friends. They're really lovely!
Brookside Gardens has a conservatory in which they purchase pupae of butterflies, they put the chrysalises in emergence boxes till they hatch out, and then those fly around the greenhouse.
the tough part is that these guys in the exhibit could be from all around the world.. in the picture from a previous post, P remembers that the big guy eating the fruit with the spot on his side is a "Owl" from Costa Rica. Thanks for the zebra identification, they look like a zebra. :)
The orange guy is Julia Heliconian, Dryas julia. I went to a butterfly house here in London in February and took lots of pictures (http://www.mjausson.com/2003/walk24Feb03.htm). That's how I know. Butterflies are the coolest things.
I love the picture of the orange butterfly on the orange flowers... I'm from a northern temperate existence where no butterfly is nearly that brilliant. The sum total of my experience is "I saw a luna moth... once."
